The Interesting Improvements of Air Conditioning Aesthetics

The general aesthetics of  air conditioning units have never really been known for being the easiest on the eye however, we can say that we are getting there slowly. From those big bulky boxes that used to sit outside our windows in the sixty’s to the slim little boxes that hide in the corners of our rooms, in this article you will find the most shocking evolution of a piece of technology yet.

The first air conditioning unit that was ever made was in 1902 and was used as a dehumidifier for a working plant which is the complete opposite than what they are more commonly used for these days. If you think that your air conditioning system is big and clunky then imagine what these massive factories based air conditioning systems looked like – they probably wouldn’t even fit in your front door!

However, thanks to the power of evolution and innovation, these big machine like air conditioning systems started to be scaled down very quickly so that they would be ideal for installation into homes, although it did still take around 40 years.

In 1946, demand for residential air conditioning saw a massive surge with over 30,000 air conditioning systems being sold in just one year. Due to this, air conditioning producers around the world pushed all of their efforts into re-designing the aesthetics of air conditioning units so they could be more portable and able to fit in with residential homes. Although they did try their hardest to perfect and scale the size of air conditioning units down, these units still looked ugly and extremely boxy.

Looking back a good 50 years down the line, we can definitely say that the aesthetics of air conditioning units have come a long way. Not only are air conditioning these days much more efficient and less harmful to the environment, but they are also a lot more compact and sleeker looking to ensure that they blend in well with other appliances and furniture within homes. Due to the ever growing demand of air conditioning units, it is about time that air conditioning producers such as Panasonic and Mitsubishi pushed forward in these technological processes (which they most definitely have).

By having much more compact and improved aesthetics of air conditioning units, consumers benefit in many ways. A major way that consumers can benefit from improved air conditioning aesthetics is by having more space in their rooms. Thanks to the air conditioning innovation of the last few years, we can all finally say goodbye to those ugly white boxes that swallow up big chunks of our rooms. We all can now have so much more space to play around with in our rooms, so you know what that means don’t you – it’s time to get to Ikea!

Probably the best benefit that more compact air conditioning brings to us consumers, is that we can all say goodbye to those horrible big boxes that hang out of our windows. It is officially the time to leave those ugly air conditioning systems in the 90s with blue eye shadow, and the solid mobile phones that were bigger than our faces.
